Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Startup Executive (Part-Time)

Next Play Nation Inc. (NPNI) is an emerging sports, entertainment, and media company headquartered in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Through its growing portfolio of professional sports organizations, international basketball operations, media platforms, live events, and future expansion initiatives, NPNI is building a new model for independent sports ownership.

We're seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to become the company's second\-ranking executive and work alongside executive leadership to help build the organization from the ground up.

This isn't a traditional executive position. It's an opportunity to become a founding leader in a startup with significant long\-term growth ambitions.

About the Role

As Chief Operating Officer, you will help transform ideas into execution by leading day\-to\-day operations, developing organizational systems, managing people, and helping drive the company's continued growth.

Because NPNI is an early\-stage startup, this is a flexible part\-time executive role designed to complement—not immediately replace—your current full\-time career.

As the company grows its revenue, assets, and portfolio of businesses, the expectation is for this position to naturally transition into a full\-time executive leadership role.

We're looking for someone who wants to grow with the company—not simply work for it.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day\-to\-day business operations across all Next Play Nation companies and initiatives.
• Execute the company's strategic vision and long\-term growth plans.
• Lead, mentor, and support staff, interns, volunteers, and department leaders.
• Build scalable systems, policies, and operational processes.
• Manage organizational priorities, timelines, and execution.
• Personally develop and close corporate sponsorship opportunities.
• Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and operational oversight.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and organizational performance.
• Represent Next Play Nation with sponsors, partners, leagues, municipalities, and community organizations.
• Evaluate future business opportunities, partnerships, and expansion initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Leadership, management, or operations experience.
• Background in business, sports management, entrepreneurship, sales, marketing, or a related field.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem\-solving skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a startup environment.
• Comfortable making decisions, taking initiative, and wearing multiple hats.
• Passion for sports, business, and building organizations.

Previous executive experience is not required. Leadership ability, integrity, initiative, and a builder's mindset are valued more than titles.

Executive Compensation

This is a performance\-based executive opportunity designed to reward company growth.

Compensation includes:

• 50% commission on all sponsorship revenue personally sourced and closed.
• Annual Executive Performance Bonus equal to 5% of Next Play Nation Inc.'s annual net profit, based on overall company performance during the company's startup phase.
• Eligibility for future executive incentive programs as the company continues to grow.

Long\-Term Equity Opportunity

We're looking for a long\-term business partner.

After completing three consecutive years of active service, the Chief Operating Officer becomes eligible to begin earning ownership in Next Play Nation Inc.

The equity program is structured as follows:

• End of Year 3 – 1% ownership
• End of Year 4 – 2% ownership
• End of Year 5 – 3% ownership
• End of Year 6 – 4% ownership
• End of Year 7 – 5% ownership (maximum)

Equity is earned through continued active service and is subject to the terms of the company's Executive Equity Agreement.
